Free Photoshop Alternative… in a browser?!?!

A.viary.com promises to be developing an online “aviary” of different media creation applications that run in your web browser. The first one that is already online, the Phoenix Image Editor, is a dead ringer for Photoshop. It lets you work in layers, and do sophisticated functions like layer masking (which we’re using for our new project). It’s currently in private beta so you have to ask for an invite. If you can’t get one soon enough, you can always ask for one at Mashable Invites.
