    Um, I didn’t see a free version for Mac here, only a free version for everything else!

      That’s because Macs don’t get viruses! Just kidding. Actually, Avast is for both Mac and Windows. Another one I discovered since writing this post is iAntiVirus for Mac. I find that it is extremely inobtrusive– it just runs in the background and doesn’t slow down your computer. Good luck!
